Frequently asked questions

What is an angel number?

An angel number is a number someone keeps noticing — on clocks, receipts, plates — and reads as meaningful. The idea is modern rather than ancient: it draws on Pythagorean numerology, but the phrase itself was popularised by writer Doreen Virtue in the early 2000s. There is no evidence numbers carry messages, and the repeated sightings are well explained by frequency illusion. What is real is the effect: a number you have attached meaning to becomes a free reminder that pulls your attention back to what you want, several times a day.

How do I find the meaning of my number?

Reduce it by adding the digits until one digit is left, then read the root — that is the underlying nature. Then read the digits in order, first as the intention and second as the method. What are master numbers?

11, 22 and 33 are called master numbers and are traditionally left unreduced, because they are read as intensified versions of 2, 4 and 6 rather than as compounds. Some practitioners extend the idea to 44 and beyond; most stop at 33.

Do angel numbers actually work for manifestation?

Not in the sense of a number causing an outcome.
