Manifesting funding the money behind the plan

The script below is written for anyone. Perla writes one for you — from your own answers about funding — and narrates it aloud. Free on iPhone and Android.

This is the general shape of capital arriving, whichever door it comes through, a grant, a loan, an investor's cheque. This script doesn't name the source; it stays with what it's actually like once a plan finally has money behind it.

On this page
  • A full script for funding, written in the present tense and ready to read tonight.
  • Shorter versions — one for falling asleep, one for the morning, and one line to carry with you.
  • How to use it: Nothing here approves a loan or persuades a grant panel; that decision belongs to whoever's reviewing the actual application, on their own timeline.
  • The common mistake: Treating funding as arrival rather than as the start of a new set of responsibilities is how a good plan gets spent carelessly in its first few weeks.

The script

Read it slowly, in the present tense, as though it has already happened. It is written to be spoken aloud, but silently is fine.

The email confirming the transfer arrives while I'm doing something unrelated, and I read it twice, not from disbelief exactly, more to be sure I've understood the terms correctly before I do anything else with the information. I open the plan I wrote months ago, the one built around a number I didn't have yet, and read it again now that the number actually exists behind it. The first thing I do isn't spend anything; it's move the funds into the account where they're supposed to sit, properly separated from the day-to-day business account, the way any sensible plan requires. I call the supplier I've been holding off ordering from and confirm the quantity we discussed, now that I can actually commit to it. There's a specific weight to this, not lightness exactly, funding arriving means a plan is now real, with real obligations attached to spending it well. I sit with the folder of receipts I'll need to keep from today onward, and start the first one properly, because using this money carefully, from the very first transaction, is the whole point of having asked for it at all.

Shorter versions

Two for the ends of the day, and one line to carry through the middle of it.

Tonight, as you fall asleep

The funds are sitting where they're supposed to sit, properly separated, and the first order's confirmed with the supplier. I'm not spending anything else in my head tonight, the plan's the plan, and tomorrow's the day for the next piece of it. There's a real weight to money with real obligations attached, and I let that settle rather than rushing past it. The folder's started. That's enough for tonight.

In the morning

I open the plan before I open anything else, checking each line against what the funding actually needs to cover, in order, rather than the parts I'm most excited about. Today's task is the first real spend, done carefully, receipt kept, exactly the way the plan describes it. I make coffee and start on it properly, the folder open beside me.

One line to carry

The plan finally has money behind it; today's task is the first careful spend.

How to use it

Nothing here approves a loan or persuades a grant panel; that decision belongs to whoever's reviewing the actual application, on their own timeline. Read it once funding is confirmed, when the weight of real money and real obligations is easiest to either avoid or spend through too fast.

The mistake to avoid

Treating funding as arrival rather than as the start of a new set of responsibilities is how a good plan gets spent carelessly in its first few weeks. The money existing doesn't finish anything; it just makes the plan real enough that it now has to be executed properly, with the same care that went into asking for it.

Questions

Does this cover applying for a specific grant or loan?

No, the actual application, the paperwork, the case you make, is real work this script doesn't do for you. This page is for after funding is confirmed, not the process of securing it.

What's the difference between this page and an investor or a business loan?

Funding is the general capital-arriving state, from any source. Those pages are more specific, an investor's equity relationship, or a loan's specific repayment structure.

Should I spend funding quickly to show momentum?

That's a business decision this script doesn't advise on. What it can support is spending carefully and on-plan, whatever pace that actually calls for.

Have this written about you
